　　莫里斯认识了克里夫的家仆桑德。他身上有着异于克里夫的气质。当他爱上莫里斯时，万念俱灰的莫里斯没有拒绝这段新感情的开始。然而，两个阶层，不同志趣，终究是二人发展的绊脚石。桑德家人叫桑德辞工前往阿根廷定居，桑德却宁愿留在莫里斯的天地。
